During a volunteering year at Umweltbildungszentrum Listhof in Reutlingen, Germany, I got infected by fascination for nature. Especially the small, big world of insects conquered my heart, and the diversity and interactions of organisms are since then in the center of my interests.

I pursued these topics during my studies of geoecology at the University of Tübingen, acquiring a wide knowledge on our living and non-living environment and the relationships in between. For my bachelor’s thesis, I lived two months in Graz, Austria, investigating the Large Blue Phengaris alcon, its adult phenology and choice of larval host plants.

In the Group of Molecular Ecology, I am working on a master’s thesis on the genetic diversity and trophic position of the firebug Pyrrhocoris apterus in Innsbruck and how these are related to overall human impact, called hemeroby.
