My interest in nature began in childhood. I spent a great deal of time outdoors, walking through forests and meadows near our village. I joined a group for children and teenagers dedicated to bat conservation in Bavaria. I also enjoyed being in nature while horseback riding and listening to the sounds of the natural world. All these early experiences led to my decision to protect nature and learn more about it.
For my bachelor’s degree, I studied Environmental Protection at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan‑Triesdorf (Bavaria, Germany). During my bachelor studies, I developed a deep interest in birds. After graduation, I worked for three years as an area coordinator for meadow‑bird conservation in the Danube Valley. In this role, I gained substantial experience in active protection projects for birds and in the scientific study of bird biology. Yet I knew I wanted to acquire even more knowledge about nature and the living beings within it.
Since 2024, I have been studying in Innsbruck, and I am currently working on my master’s thesis project with fellow master’s student Daniel Egger. We aim to investigate how different levels of human influence might impact the Common Blackbird (Turdus merula) within the city of Innsbruck.
