I have always been fascinated by the wonders of nature, especially the alpine ecosystems with their great diversity. The flora and fauna and the ecological relationships are particularly exciting.

My greatest interest lies in bats, about which I completed my Bachelor’s thesis on the influence of altitudinal gradient and habitat structure on bats in the Alps at the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in Freising, Germany.

I am currently working on my master’s thesis using audio recordings and net catches to investigate the extent to which hemeroby has an influence on the species composition and occurrence of bats in and around Innsbruck. This is a collaborative project together with Maike Bonacker and Lisa Jung at the Department of Ecology at the University of Innsbruck.
