I love the adventure of being outside, observing nature. While I am interested in various groups including birds, plants, and mammals, Hymenoptera and in particular wild bees have a special place in my heart.

I did my bachelor’s on applied biology in the Netherlands. Afterwards, I worked for five years at a Dutch NGO working in insect conservation (De Vlinderstichting). During my work, I noticed that I love to learn and get a deeper knowledge on interactions in nature and get a better understanding why species can be found in what habitats, what they need to survive, and how we can protect biodiversity. This curiosity was the reason to start my master’s in Ecology and Biodiversity in Innsbruck. Right now, I am working on my master thesis about the ants of Vienna.
